NAN II plays your music and movies, reads you books, looks things up in Wikipedia, translates, carries the groceries, charges your phone and follows you camping. It runs the AI models you choose, all on board, with no internet connection and no one listening in.

Listens in one language and speaks in another, so everyone at the table can talk.

Nothing gets reported back

NAN II doesn't send recordings, usage data or check-ins anywhere. There's nothing to opt out of.

No internet needed

Wikipedia, the books, the music and the movies are all on board, so NAN II works the same at home or at the campsite.

It remembers what you tell it to

Birthdays in the datebook, the shopping list, where the tent pegs went. NAN II keeps what you ask it to keep, and nothing else.

Nothing changes unless you say so

No surprise updates and no features taken away overnight. NAN II stays the way you set it up until you decide otherwise.

No servers to shut down

NAN II doesn't lean on anyone's cloud, so it keeps working for as long as you keep it running.

Jody Morris Gelbart wrote and illustrated a short story about a robot named NAN II, and registered it with the Library of Congress on January 29, 2014.

The world caught up

The story waited while computers got small enough to ride inside a robot, and AI got good enough to run with no cloud at all.

Built by the person who dreamed it up

Jody brought NAN II to life, and kept going. The same hands made every one of its arcade games and wrote its theme music, so NAN II's games and theme song are its very own.
